This summer finds soprano Kathleen Kim in Korea and the United Kingdom for a series of concerts and operatic performances. On May 29 and 31, the Korean-American soprano stars as Rosina in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Daegu Opera House. She is then heard at the Seoul Arts Center with Myung-Whun Chung on June 5 for Mahler’s Symphony No. 2.
Kathleen and Maestro Chung reunite in the United Kingdom on July 15 when they perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 — a work they previously recorded for Deutsche Grammophon — in London’s famed St. Paul’s Cathedral. The concert is given as part of the City of London Festival.
Later in July, Kathleen returns to Korea for two concerts with the Great Mountain Music Festival in Gangwon. On July 26, she sings arias by Rossini alongside Mozart’s Coronation Mass No. 15. On July 31, she performs more works by Rossini as well as songs by Dell’Acqua and Delibes. For more information on Kathleen’s schedule, click here.
